Allegations that the Russian military destroyed HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), previously supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), are lies. So Pentagon responded to messages Ministry of Defense of Russia on the elimination of these installations, the agency reports Reuters.
“We are aware of these latest statements by the Minister [обороны Сергея] Shoigu, and they are again a clear lie,” denied acting Pentagon spokesman Todd Breazeale.
He stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine “are using the full potential of MLRS data to protect against the brutal and criminal invasion of Russia, effectively and with amazing accuracy.”
The Pentagon refused to provide evidence that the previously mentioned MLRS are still in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Formerly US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin informedthat the new package of military assistance to Ukraine will include four more MLRS HIMARS in addition to the eight installations already in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian side is effectively using reactive systems, which “greatly changed the situation on the battlefield.”
