The total amount of insured funds held on accounts in Russian banks amounted to 42.9 trillion rubles as of April 1. According to the results of the first quarter, it decreased by 4.7%. Since the beginning of the year, the amount of household deposits has decreased by 6.5%, individual entrepreneurs – by 16.6%, legal entities – by 4.9%, funds on escrow accounts have decreased by 19.7%, on deposits for overhaul – by 6, 5%. This follows from the monitoring of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA).
“As of April 1, 2022, the total volume of insured funds of all categories of depositors in banks amounted to 42.9 trillion rubles, having decreased by 4.7% in the first quarter of 2022 (in the first quarter of 2021, the decrease was 1.6%). Including: deposits of the population – 33.2 trillion rubles (77.5% of the total amount of deposits); deposits of individual entrepreneurs — 1 trillion rubles (2.6%); deposits of legal entities — 4.7 trillion rubles (11.0%); funds on escrow accounts — 3.6 trillion rubles (8.5%),” the DIA report says.
The average deposit of individuals amounted to 284 thousand rubles, legal entities – 2.195 million rubles. In the first quarter, deposits of individuals and individual entrepreneurs ranging from 1 million to 1.4 million rubles. increased by 1.7% in terms of amount and by 1.8% in terms of the number of depositors. Deposits up to 1 million rubles. decreased by 8.1% in terms of amount and by 0.2% in terms of the number of depositors. Deposits over 10 million rubles. decreased by 2.3% in terms of amount and by 4.1% in terms of the number of depositors. The vast majority of individual depositors (97.1%) keep up to 1 million rubles in their accounts.
According to the DIA, the deposits of legal entities in the first quarter decreased in all ranges. The minimum outflow of funds was observed among deposits in excess of 20 million rubles.
As specified in the agency, 98.3% of all depositors of operating banks fall under full insurance coverage (98.5% in terms of individuals and 87.1% in terms of legal entities).
