On November 8, the Irkutsk Planetarium and the Irkutsk Regional Astronomical Society will broadcast online observations of the total lunar eclipse on the YouTube channel IRAO. About it reported on the official website of the institution.

It will start at 17:00 Irkutsk time. In addition, in clear weather, observations of the eclipse are planned in Irkutsk and 15 other settlements in three regions of Russia – the Irkutsk region, Republic Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The moon in Irkutsk will rise at 17:13, already partially in the shadow of the Earth, but at that time it will be very low above the horizon, and it will be difficult to observe, – says the director of the Irkutsk planetarium, chairman of the Irkutsk regional astronomical society Pavel Nikiforov. – At 18 hours 16 minutes the shadow of the Earth will cover the moon completely, and at 19 hours 41 minutes the total eclipse will end and partial phases will begin. At 20 hours 49 minutes in Irkutsk Moon completely out of the shadow of the Earth. We plan to show not only the images that our observers will take in the Irkutsk region, Buryatia and Transbaikalia, but also the eclipse footage from Australia – our colleague in Melbourne will also observe this phenomenon. In addition, during the broadcast we will talk about the eclipse and answer questions from viewers.
