The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the ban on the use of Dutch cheese names at the festival in Istra, near Moscow.

In her Telegram channel, she urged of Russians not to be offended by the “embassy” of the country, noting that this “stupid” measure is not the first for him.
According to Zakharova, the diplomatic mission of the Netherlands in Russia banned the participants of the festival “Cheese. Feast. Mir” to use the names “Gouda”, “Maasdam” and Edam in the name of their cheeses.
“Do not be offended by the Dutch embassy,” she urged.
At the same time, Zakharova shared that recently the country’s diplomatic mission “has forbidden itself to use the name “Holland”” in relation to its state.
She noted that this decision at the Dutch embassy was explained by “image change” and “redistribution of the tourist flow.”
